Well what a year, what a series come back after 20 years out of the game, and a trophy in every race we finished which is 6 out of nine, including 4x class wins, 2x class seconds and an overall winner in the last race of the season, but that was a slog to even get on track! After the diff let go in testing on the Friday at Snetterton, 24hrs of rebuild took us past Race-1 on the Saturday afternoon and not looking too good. Except, the great Raymondo of Meryworth Services who look after the car yet again worked his magic, repairing the diff to a fashion which made it possible to qualify out of session on the Sunday morning ready for the final two races of the year. Race-2 saw rain bucketing down as the cars went out and even though Ricky was on the finest Avon wets the screen just fogged up beyond belief forcing a wise retirement in fear of the conditions. Race-3 however was a different story... Starting from the back of the grid Ricky, fuelled by a whole weekend of adrenaline took flight as the red lights went out and he was on a mission, taking 6th and 5th place on the outside of turn-1 and 4th and 3rd place before Sears (turn-2). Tony Paxman in 2nd was dealt with before turn-3 and Paul Sibley was in his sights. Ricky and Paul changed places many times when suddenly it becam a three way scrap as the mighty Baby Bertha appeared in their mirrors, Joe Ward with the bit between his teeth now in the running. A brief wide line by the 309 through Coram left the door open for the Elan and Firenza but the awesome YB powered 309 put that right yet again on the finish line and held it too the end to take the cars first ever overall win and first in Class A to finish the year!!
